Franciscan Monastery in Sasiola (Z·M colec.) The Spanish liberal government made a practice of confiscating and selling Church property. The objective was not to fund agricultural reform, but rather to pay off the State’s debts. A large part of the Church’s cultural heritage was lost without benefit to anyone.
