After the end of the First Carlist War in 1839, photography began to take off in Paris, bringing with it a true revolution: reality was no longer just imitated, but actually captured instead. This new society saw themselves as they photographed themselves: brimming with optimism. Today, we see the 19th century as an era of light and shadow.
