Museum has much to show us, and HISTORYon line is an opportunity
for us to learn more about each other. The Zumalakarregi Museum is named
after the Carlist general of the same name, and is located in his home
town, Ormaiztegi. Since the Gipuzkoa
Provincial Government reopened the Museum in 1989, it has made a concerted
effort to appeal to all types of visitors. Now, the Museum aims to reach
an even wider public with this open, interactive and constantly evolving
website.
HISTORY on line is an ongoing project which is constantly being up dated and modified to include a variety of different themes and subjects to appeal to the tastes of all netizens. Because we want to listen to you and your ideas, every section includes a space for you to send us your own opinions and suggestions. The period and the theme of the Zumalakarregi Museum is the 19th century: a time when tradition and revolution came face to face. From there on its over to you… This website includes
the following sections: Our digital archives aim to take advantage of new technology in order to place little-known and hard-to-find documents and information at the disposal of any interested netizens. A curiosities section, with which we hope to go beyond anecdote and demonstrate that the reality in which live is more complex than the clichés and clear cut moral divisions which we so often cling to. Games This section aims to emphasise history’s more entertaining side, turning the discovery of our past into a fun game. We also offer a virtual exhibition based around our historical heritage which links tradition to modernity. We have started it, now its up to you to continue….
